On October 12, 2015, the second lecture of the series of academic lectures given by scholars of International Business School who had returned after completing their study or research overseas was held.
　　The speaker was Dr. Yuan Xiaoyan, who had returned after completing her post-doctoral research program at Cornell University in USA.
　　Her report was on the Priority of Heavy Industry and Modern Chinese Women analyzed from the perspective of marriage market and labor market.
　　Yuan's study showed that China's economic reform and opening-up and migrant rural workers coming to cities caused complicated relations among populations originally segmented by rural-urban distinction, in particular the household registration system, resulting in significant differences in employment, education, health care and other social services, which in turn directly influencing establishment of marriage, stability of marriage and happiness of family.
